The GMB Union passionately believes in being a Trade Union that is a champion of equality and diversity in the workplace and beyond. Equality and Diversity is embedded in the core principles of the GMB and we believe that there should be no barrier to individuals from all backgrounds being able to realise their full potential and play a full role within the GMB, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, need, religion or sexual orientation.
The GMB has National and Regional Equal Rights Advisory Committees and Race Advisory Committees as well as a National Equality and Diversity Officer as part of our approach of embedding equality and diversity within the GMB Union’s culture.
Equality is about forming a fairer society, where everyone can play a part and have the opportunity to achieve their full potential, whether this be in their place of work or within their community This can be accomplished by eliminating prejudice and discrimination, making our society a healthier and happier place to be. We all have the right to be treated as an individual.
